I know drama is an art form, but seriously...

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 21, 2007, 7:18 PM
To fully spite my lack-of-posting-in-this-journal nature, I brought myself to sit down and write a proper argument tonight.

Now, as of late, its been my decision to refrain from discussing my personal life here - simply because I really don't have the time to type out an essay of why things happen and whine when they don't go my way and, more importantly, I don't feel the need for people to reach out and respond to my soundings - positive or otherwise.

Call this a rant, because I've obviously found the time to post this here, but I'm just curious as to why people feel that they must update their journals with information that has nothing to do with their creations, much less, information that seems more for the purpose of gaining apologies and grievances.

What happened to the art?

I love reading about peoples' travels, when they'll get a new piece of equipment, when they've learned something and have stories to share, if they'll be updating soon or even why they haven't updated at all (sound familiar?). What are they doing with their art, who are they seeing, where are they doing it?

I don't want to read (consistent) entries about how somebody has gone all emo and hates their life and does very little about it besides posting in their dA journal. They get about a billion replies along the lines of "I'm soooo sorrry!!!1" and gives each one a "yeah, it sucks" in return. Whats the point?

I know I've been guilty of posting no-art-nonsense in the past and I've stopped simply because I never saw the point in ranting about life's goings-ons to people who I believe really wouldn't want to hear about it - it is an art place, afterall.

So I'm just wondering here, for the sake of writing and the lack of creations that I see sometimes.
Where's the beef, why the drama?
